East Marden Primary Capacity Management Plan has been revoked

Our school has had a Capacity Management Plan (CMP) in place to help the school return to sustainable enrolments and accommodate local students.

The CMP has been revoked by notice in the SA government gazette, to come into effect from May 1^st 2023 (Capacity Management Plan Revocation)

This means we will return to managing our enrolments, as other high demand schools do, within the provisions outlined in the department’s enrolment policies.

The school continues to have a zone, from which we will accept our core intake of students each year. However, the removal of the CMP means we can again consider applications from families living outside of the school zone, when places are available.

2024 ENROLMENTS

RECEPTION STUDENTS – STARTING SCHOOL

In South Australia, the first year of Primary School is known as Reception. Starting school is an exciting time for families and children as our youngest learners take early steps on their journey through education and on to the rest of their lives.

From 2024 there will be a mid-year intake into school for Reception students.

If your child turns 5 before 1 May, they can start school at the beginning of the year.

If your child turns 5 years between 1 May and 31 October, they can start school in either:

term 3 of the same year
or term 1 the following year.

Students enrolled in the mid-year intake will complete 6 terms of reception.

The Department for Education will release more information about the mid-year intake during 2023.

ENROLMENT ENQUIRY FORM

Reception enrolments for 2025 and beyond will not be available until the year before your child is due to start school.

All applications will be assessed in accordance with the Department for Education’s Enrolment Policy. Zoning criteria will be strictly enforced and families who are not able to provide all of the necessary documentation to the satisfaction of the school may not be considered for enrolment. Families will only be contacted once an appropriate vacancy becomes available for your child. Unfortunately, the school is not in a position to guarantee when vacancies at the school will arise. On occasions where children are unable to attend their previous school, East Marden Primary School can assist by organising an alternate placement at a nearby government primary school for your child to attend. During this time they are still able to remain on our Enrolment Register for future consideration.
